1 Month Until "AltAusterity: Coping is Not Enough"
Preparations are coming together for our next workshop.
Jan 22, 2019
We are less than one month away from this grant's third annual conference, this year called, "AltAusterity: Coping is Not Enough". This year McMaster is co-hosting this event with the Berlin-based Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung Foundation. The goal is to create a space wherein salient questions are tabled and widely discussed with academics and practitioners from all over the world.
How do social and economic relations change under conditions of permanent austerity? How do international, national, and regional political institutions influence the development of austerity-regimes? What commonalities and difference exist between nations? And which alternatives exist to overcome the status quo of austerity politics? To analyze the causes, connections, and effects of this new age of austerity-capitalism, we need a broad debate that questions dominating paradigms, discusses political alternatives, and develops new and far-reaching perspectives.
We look forward to having you join us in these conversations.
We'll post content every other Tuesday morning and our AltAusterity Digest Friday mornings. To keep up with our work, you can subscribe to our newsletter or follow us on Twitter @AltAusterity and join the #altausterity conversation!
