The Schizophrenia of UK (De) industrialization Policy

Is the May government’s industrial strategy going to redress the economic imbalances and grievances that powered the Brexit insurgency?

This week we feature a blog post by Drs. Richard Woodward and James Silverwood (Coventry University, UK) which looks at the industrial strategy put forward by the May government, formally outlined in a White Paper published in November 2017 and how it is unlikely to rectify the economic and social discontent that led to Brexit. Richard and James look to the aftermath of Brexit industrial policy and how it has been rehabilitated as a plausible remedy to the UK’s broken model of economic growth.
