Congratulations to Tyler Murchie on the Prestigous W. Garfield Weston Award for Northern Research

The W. Garfield Weston Award for Northern Research is made possible by generous funding from The W. Garfield Weston Foundation, and is designed to support northern scholarship. Tyler's application titled "Sedimentary ancient DNA and the Palaeoamerican Ecology of the Late Quaternary Extinctions" focuses on analyzing ancient DNA from lake sediments to chronologically assess shifting signatures of human diagnostic microbiota, plants, animals, and other environmental proxies over the last 40,000 years in northern North America and the Andean Mountains.
