CRDCN 2016 National Conference
The call for proposals for the annual CRDCN national conference is now open. The theme for 2016 is "Health, Wealth, and Happiness in Canada". How well are Canadians doing in achieving those aspirations? Is Canada becoming more or less equitable?

Submissions are welcome from all disciplines, and non-thematic abstracts are accepted so long as they make use or/are relevant to Statistics Canada microdata. The deadline for abstract submission is August 15th. Abstracts can be submitted online at www.rdc-cdr.ca.

New data sets at the RDC:
In the upcoming weeks we will be receiving new data sets and surveys at the McMaster Research Data Centre. Please see the information below. Researchers interested in accessing these data sets are encouraged to submit proposals!

Longitudinal and International Study of Adults (LISA) - 2014, wave 2
A new data cycle for the Longitudinal and International Study of Adults (LISA) has just been released; information for 2014 is now available.

The LISA sample has a stratified multi-stage, multi-phase longitudinal design. It asks about jobs, education, health and family, in order to explore how changes in these areas have affected people's lives. The survey covers the population living in the 10 provinces at the time of the first wave. Questions are asked about education levels, labour activities, job characteristics, child health, disability, and major life events. Data is also linked to Tl , T4, pension plan, and immigration database files.

Those interested in education, training, labour, income, households and health might find this a very useful and interesting data set. Further information can be found on the LISA page at the Statistics Canada website
