New data sets at the RDC:
Canadian Community Health Survey - Rapid Response - Positive mental health (CCHS RR PMH)
The CCHS collects information on health status, health care use and determinants of health. It relies upon a large sample of respondents and is designed to provide reliable estimates at the regional level. In 2007, a rapid response section was added to the survey. This portion of the survey appears for some collection periods and is conducted based on interest and cost-recovery from organizations with interest in obtaining national estimates on specific topics.
This module is the Mental Health Continuum - Short Form (MHC-SF) instrument developed by Dr. Corey Keyes. The MHC-SF consists of 14 items that can be used to classify individuals as having flourishing, languishing, or moderate mental health. Answers to this module are used to determine the positive mental health of the respondent. Higher levels of positive mental health are widely thought to be associated with better overall health.
