Researcher Congrats & Kudos
Congratulations to Lynn Arner, Professor of English at Brock University, on a recent paper publication!
Her work, "How to Choose an English Doctoral Program: A Guide for Women, First-Generation University Students, and Their Mentors", was recently published in the Journal of Canadian Studies . It used data from the Survey of Earned Doctorates (SED).
New data sets at the RDC:
Canadian Social Survey – Quality of Life, Health and Compassionate Communities
The Canadian Social Survey - Quality of Life, Health and Compassionate Communities (CSS-QLHCC) is now available for download and can be accessed by researchers with approved projects. The Canadian Social Survey (CSS) collects information on a variety of social topics such as health, well-being, impacts of COVID-19, activities, time-use, emergency preparedness, quality of life, energy use, virtual health care and trust. The CSS provides data at the national level (excluding the territories).
The purpose of the QLHCC component was to collect information about quality of life, health, compassionate communities, as well as positions held on non-profit boards of directors. Results from the survey will help decision makers develop programs and policies to better serve Canadians.
More information on the CSS-QLHCC can be found at https://www23.statcan.gc.ca/imdb/p2SV.pl?Function=getSurvey&Id=1535076.
If you would like more information on how to submit a proposal for access to this data see https://www.statcan.gc.ca/eng/microdata/data-centres/access. For more information about the RDC program please contact your local RDC analyst.
