Call for abstracts – CRDCN conference

The Canadian Research Data Centre Network (CRDCN) invites abstracts of no more than one page by June 15, 2023, proposing papers and/or posters (see poster guidelines, below), to be presented in-person at the CRDCN conference at the Sheraton Hotel in Hamilton Ontario, November 21-23, 2023. All research applying microdata is welcome, with preference given to research conducted at Canadian Research Data Centres. It is expected that at least 60 proposals will be accepted. CRDCN researchers are generally in disciplines such as health, economics and business, sociology, social work, political science, geography, and environmental studies, but researchers from all disciplines are welcome.

New data sets at the RDC: 

Canadian Social Survey - Quality of Life and Cost of Living (CSSW3 (QLCL) 2022)

The Canadian Social Survey (CSS) is Statistics Canada’s recent data collection project. The goal is to understand social issues more rapidly by conducting surveys on different topics. The Canadian Social Survey (CSS) will collect information on a variety of social topics such as health, well-being, and impacts of COVID-19, activities, time-use, and emergency preparedness etc. 
 
From October 21 to December 4, 2022, Statistics Canada conducted the Canadian Social Survey – Quality of Life and Cost of Living (CSS-QLCL). This survey was the seventh wave of the CSS.
 
The purpose of CSS-QLCL is to collect information about the quality of life and cost of living in Canada. Results from the survey will provide important information about well-being, life opportunities and the impacts of inflation on individuals and families.
