New data sets at the RDC
In the upcoming weeks we will be receiving new data sets and surveys at the McMaster Research Data Centre. Please see the information below. Researchers interested in accessing these data sets are encouraged to submit proposals!
PSIS (Postsecondary Student Information System)
The Postsecondary Student Information System (PSIS) is a national survey that provides detailed information on enrollments and graduates of Canadian public post-secondary institutions in order to meet policy and planning needs in the field of post-secondary education. The PSIS RDC dataset consists of data for public institutions across all provinces and territories from 2009 onwards. Prior to 2009, institutions from select jurisdictions have been included to facilitate analysis with tax data that is concurrently being undertaken by Statistics Canada.
PSIS collects information pertaining to the programs and courses offered at an institution, as well as information regarding the students themselves and the program(s) and course(s) in which they were registered, or from which they have graduated. This survey is a census with a cross-sectional design.

Research in Focus Series 2018
A series of lunchtime conversations for students, faculty members & staff focused on community-based research, knowledge mobilization, and research data & its management, organized by the Centre for Research in Empirical Social Sciences. Bring your lunch & CRESS will provide drinks & dessert.
All lunchtime talks will meet in L.R. Wilson Hall 5001 on either Tuesdays or Wednesdays (see below). All students, faculty members, and staff are welcome. The Centre for Research in Empirical Social Sciences (cress.mcmaster.ca) will provide drinks and desserts.
