New data sets at the RDC
In the upcoming weeks we will be receiving new data sets and surveys at the McMaster Research Data Centre. Please see the information below. Researchers interested in accessing these data sets are encouraged to submit proposals!
Canadian Survey on Disability (CSD)
The purpose of the Canadian Survey on Disability (CSD) is to provide information about Canadian adults whose daily activities are limited because of a long-term condition or health-related problem. This information will be used to plan and evaluate services, programs and policies for adults with disabilities to help enable their full participation in Canadian society.
The survey collects information on: the type and severity of disability, use of aids and assistive devices, daily help received or required, use of various therapies and social service supports, educational attainment, labour force participation details, requirements and unmet needs for accommodations at school or work, the experience of being housebound, veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces with disabilities, Internet use, methods used to access government services and sources of income.
Researchers interested in disability, equity, inclusion, and work may find this a useful data set. More information on this data set can be found at http://www23.statcan.gc.ca/imdb/p2SV.pl?Function=getSurvey&SDDS=3251&dis=1.
The McMaster RDC is now accepting proposals for work with this data. For information on the application process, please visit: https://www.statcan.gc.ca/eng/rdc/process
